The Claude slack-gif-creator skill’s SKILL.md tells Claude to use it when you ask for an animated GIF for Slack, such as “make me a GIF of X doing Y for Slack.” It gives Claude size guidance for Slack, Python helpers for building and checking the GIF, and a set of animation ideas.
The skill recommends 128×128 pixels for emoji GIFs and 480×480 for message GIFs, 10 to 30 frames per second, 48 to 128 colors, and under three seconds for emoji GIFs. Claude draws each frame with the Pillow imaging library, assembles the frames with the skill’s GIFBuilder and can check the file with its validators. The animation concepts include shake, pulse, bounce, spin, fade, slide, zoom and particle bursts, with easing functions for smoother motion. If you upload an image, Claude can animate it directly or use it only as a reference for colors and style. The skill ships no ready-made graphics and avoids emoji fonts, which it describes as unreliable across platforms.
The skill is part of the example-skills plugin from Anthropic’s skills repository. In the Claude apps, example skills are turned on in Customize > Skills, with Code execution and file creation enabled (Use skills in Claude).
