- Official example from Midjourney
The prompt splits into two parts with a double colon: “still life painting” at the default weight of 1 and “fruit” at -0.5. Midjourney’s docs use it to show that all weights in a prompt must add up to a positive number: 1 plus -0.5 works, but fruit::-2 (total -1) gives an error. To adapt it, swap the subject and the element to discourage, and keep the total weight above zero.
The prompt is quoted from Multi-Prompts & Weights - Midjourney Docs.

Questions
Why does fruit::-2 give an error?
1 plus -2 is negative, and Midjourney requires the weights in a prompt to add up to a positive number.
What does the double colon do?
It splits a prompt into separately weighted ideas; unweighted parts default to 1.
Which Midjourney versions support multi-prompts?
Midjourney’s Multi-Prompts article lists versions 1 through 6.1 and their Niji versions.
